Pennsylvania does NOT offer a voluntary online point-reduction program. The state-mandated Driver Improvement School is 6 hours (two 3-hour sessions same day), classroom-only, triggered at 6 points. Completion removes 4 points. First-time 6-point drivers can alternatively take Special Point Examination (removes 2 points). Suspension triggered at 11 points. 3-point automatic removal after 12 months violation-free. Online 'defensive driving' courses marketed to PA drivers by commercial providers (Aceable, iDS, GoToTrafficSchool, etc.) are typically elective. Some insurers accept them for discount, but PennDOT does NOT accept them for point reduction. Court-ordered ticket dismissal varies by county.
