Yes. Texas accepts TDLR-approved online driving safety courses statewide, for both ticket dismissal and insurance discounts, and online has been the default way Texans take defensive driving for years.

The thing to get right isn't the format, it's the sequence. For a dismissal, you request the court's permission first, pay the court fee, capped at $10, and only then take the course by the court's deadline. Drivers who take the course before asking sometimes find the court won't apply it retroactively. Ask, then enroll.

Two Texas-specific rails: every provider must charge at least $25 by law, so a cheaper online course isn't a bargain, it's not a legal Texas course; and CDL holders can't use the dismissal at any format, online or classroom.
